Name

ed Name; Meridian

Barn Name; Meridian

Nicknames; Big M, grumpy old man, mare in disguise, spicy boy and sassy pants

he was already given the name Meridian when he was given to my riding instructor Alison. He does in fact respond to his name and the nicknames

Pedigree

Sire; we aren’t sure on who his sire is but I’ll definitely find out for you

Dam; same with the dam we aren’t sure on who his dam is but I’ll definitely find out for you

Well known ancestors; yet again we don’t know who his ancestors or dam or sire are but I’ll definitely find out

so all we know from meridian is that he is an Arabian but we don’t actually know if he’s a ed or not as he’s a rescue and we are trying to figure that out

Aesthetics

Gender; Gelding but thinks he’s a very very moody mare

Height; 15.2

Coat Color; Chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail

Age; 22 nearly 23

Meridians coat is typically muddy nowadays and that’s because he rolls in the mud because it’s winter where I live. He has a thick coat atm also and his height definitely helps with his discipline as we do eventing and he’s got a very good build for his age

Owners

Breeder; we were never told who his breeder was all we know is that he was born in Queensland in Brisbane

Past owner(s); unknown atm as I was told to put this here to keep private information about the past owner since she was only a kid

Current owner; Alison Faulkner

Current leaser; none

Meridians old owner was such a lovely girl but she just wasn’t cut out for looking after him so the parents gave him to Alison and she’s had him ever since I’m sorry I don’t know any info about the breeder all I know is that meridian was born in Brisbane in Queensland. Meridian is doing really well then he was when Alison first got meridian

Discipline

Current discipline(s); Eventing

Past Discipline(s); Endurance riding

Meridian had quit his past discipline as he was just to clumsy doing it and he just didn’t enjoy endurance riding like he did when he was younger so we introduced him to eventing and he’s enjoying it. Both me and Alison have both said we won’t retire Meridian unless he wants to or unless he needs to

Training

Current trainer; Alison

Past trainer(s); unknown atm

Age training started; 3

Age training stopped; still in training atm

hes past trainer was horrible to him which is why he’s now nippy to the girth being done up. We are trying to fix it but we dunno if we can fix it but atm he’s doing just fine and he loves his current trainer……sort of…. :joy: it’s a hate love relationship between him and Alison

Current

Current rider(s); Mee

Past rider(s); i don’t really know

Meridian can be a bit sassy with brand new riders but with me he can be a bit of a brat but most of the time he’s an angel. He never really liked his past rider from what I heard but I’m not 100% sure on that lol

Habits

Bad habits; biting when doing up the girth

Good habits; licking you or the gate when doing up the girth and grabbing the bit on his own

Neutral habits; Scratching his head on me after he’s been ridden

the biting behaviour was started before he was given to his past owner as he was only doing it as his past trainer was doing the girth up to tight so now he thinks whenever you do up the girth you’ll hurt him. The grabbing the bit on his own and the licking the gate or licking you whenever the girth is done up is because I taught him how to not bite you when the girth is being done up

Behavior

Around strangers; very friendly but his ears are flat back but he won’t bite

Around familiar humans; very friendly but can be a bit spicy

Around strange horses; will stay away from them as long as they don’t come up to him

Around familiar horses; bossy

Meridian is what I like to call the grumpy old man as he flattens his ears back when new people or new horse come to meet him unless it’s a 3 year old child. When it’s familiar humans and horses though he’s super sassy and bossy it’s pretty funny to watch tbh

Cues

Sensitivity; really sensitive

Smartness; really smart

Dominate trait; Canter

Other notable traits; trot and walk and gallop

Meridian is super smart and super sensitive so when you’re asking him to walk and trot and canter you don’t need to kick him you can just say walk on or trot on or canter and he’ll do it. He is more stronger in his canter then the rest of his traits
