Orioles to Sign Maikel Franco

The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly agreed to a 1-year, $1.2 million contract with 3rd baseman Maikel Franco, Jon Heyman reports. It was reported that Franco and the O's were working on a deal, but now it is in fact a done deal. Franco, 28, slashed .278/.321/.457 in 60 games for the Royals last season with a 109 OPS+, but was non-tendered by the club after the season. Franco is a solid fit for Baltimore, as the team was projected to start Rio Ruiz at the hot corner (according to RosterResource), who put up a 90 wRC+ and was replacement level by fWAR last season.
