The City Connect news just keeps on coming as today we are here to cover the unveiling for the Colorado Rockies. So far this year, we have already covered the Astros, Nationals, and Giants, and now the Rockies are ing the club with a very polarizing design approach.

Inspired by the Colorado sunrises and sunsets as well as everything in between the Rockies have set themselves to have a standout uniform in the MLB. A depart from the green and white City Connects that paid tribute to the Colorado license plate. Now Colorado is debuting a Sky Blue, Purple, Orange, and Pink look.

Starting with the uniform, the Rockies are the first team to introduce a pullover jersey for the City Connect. This was decided due to recent internal studies that Rockies players prefer to wear the jerseys similar to a T-Shirt rather than buttoning like usual.

A very subtle ripstop pattern can be seen on the jersey, which is a subtle homage to ski and snowboarding clothing. The colorful nature and the pattern design are meant to give off Colorado's famous outdoor lifestyle as well as their winter sports activities that are hosted by the state. Players' names are dawned in purple with orange numbers with a pink outline. The sleeve shows us a brand new patch for the Rockies. This patch shows a mountain peak with the Colorado "CO" initials in pink with a baseball inside the O and wrapping this all together in an orange circle.

On to the hats, where the Rockies will be dawning light blue caps this time around, they'll be using their classic "Rocky Mountains" logo but recolored in Purple, Orange and Pink.

Around the sweatband are many elements paying tribute to the Colorado flag and just Colorado in general. The design of the Colorado flag wraps around the entirety of the sweatband and uses the colors of Blue, Purple, Orange, and Pink that we've been seeing used all over the uniform.

On to the jocktag design where we see the abbreviation "DEN" in yellow accompanied with the mountain logo. "DEN" is also the airport code for Denver. There's also a purple tag that states "BASEBALL @ ALTITUDE," referencing the insane altitude that is played when games are at Coors Field, making it easily the highest elevated stadium in the MLB.

Unlike the first City Connect, these uniforms will be initially paired with white pants as direct from players. It seems many were not a fan of the Green Pants that debuted with their last set. Rockies management really wanted to take every piece of advice they received from the first city connect to help create this new set.

The end goal for Colorado was to create a youthful look to the team as they understood that the objective of the City Connect program was to bring new appeal to the team rather than trying to relate to the older crowds. Perception was mixed amongst players, but many ended up growing accustomed to the uniform with time.
