Unit Songs Challenge

I saw some challenges created by here.

I decided to choose 5 songs from 5 different units. I hope that you enjoy it.

EXO-CBX - For You

Tw/ Depression

Although they weren't an official unit at this time, I had to include them or else there was no need to even do this challenge. I have Persistent Depression Disorder with major depression episodes and I try to cope with it in more healthy ways than in my past. I tend to gravitate to certain songs when I’m in one of these episodes for different reasons depending on the song. For You is one go those that I gravitate towards and will listen to on repeat a lot during these episodes. One time I listened to the song for 6 weeks straight until I was slowly coming out of the episode. For You comforts me with its gentle melody and CBX reminds me how much they mean to me. I always go to EXO Planet, especially when I need them the most. I guess it’s a way for myself to subconsciously remind me that I have something to live for.

Strawberry Milk - Hello

The second song I chose is Hello by Strawberry Milk, a subunit of Choa and Way from Crayon Pop. I know them for their quirky concepts so I was not surprised by their title track, OK. However, when I listened to the mini album I was not only blown away by their vocals, but was surprised to hear a ballad like this from them. I genuinely think anyone who only knows Crayon Pop for their quirky concepts or someone who loves ballads should listen to Hello. The song is very beautifully sung and you just drift away and focus on their amazing vocals.

Odd Eyed Circle - Chaotic

Chaotic by Odd Eyed Circle of Loona is my third song. I really enjoyed the way Loona debuted each as soloists and in a unit before actually debuting as a group. Unfortunately, I didn’t like that many songs from them as I had hoped. Alexis knows I love R&B and suggested that I listen to Chaotic cause she thought I would enjoy it. She was spot on! I had this on repeat and it made me go back and re-listen to other Loona songs to give them a second chance.

Prinstin V - Get It

My fourth pick is Get It by Pristin V. With the success that they had with both songs on the single album (in my opinion they were successful) I was shocked to find out that Pristin disbanded. My first thought about hearing of the unit, aside from being excited, was maybe Pledis was trying to get the group more attention. Sometimes fans find groups through units or even become a fan of the group through the unit. Maybe the songs didn’t live up to the standards that the company set, which is rather sad considering how many people I know who got into Pristin through this unit. They only had 1 single album which Get It and Spotlight is on. This song didn’t necessarily change my perspective or life, but it did remind me how quickly a group can disband for unknown reasons. If you haven’t heard either of their songs, I highly suggest you do.

VIXX LR - Whisper

The last song I chose was highly unexpected due to me not being in the group's music that much. Whisper by VIXX LR completely came and knocked me down so fast I didn’t even have a chance to see what hit me. Whisper is a 100% full bop! Although I’m not into VIXX, I do enjoy Ravi’s solos so he may play a big part in why I love this song so much. Though I can’t deny the calmness of Leo’s vocals. I could never explain what makes me so drawn to this song yet I can listen to it on repeat for hours, and do when I come across the song!
