Latest Battle Jacket?

Hello, you lot.

I'm just sat on the floor sewing on patches to my latest battle jacket. I'm listening to Sam Fender's People watching as I go, no not very metal. But I'm seeing him in a couple weeks so figured I need to get to grips with the latest album. So far so good.

Sam's at the start of June, but you know what's happening towards the end of June? Iron Maiden. Last year I got to meet Bruce Dickinson and then I saw him on his solo tour. By that point I was still hyped by seeing Iron Maiden the year before that.

So a year ago I had the crazy idea to make an Iron Maiden themed vest. I had greater motivation when I found out Iron Maiden were touring again, meaning my aim to have the vest done by those shows... No pressure.

Not including the one I'm currently sewing, I have 12 patches left to go. Plus studs and chains. It's currently May 25th. Ok, maybe there is some pressure. Though I'm trying to eek it out. Maybe I can get five or something attached today then do the rest gradually over the coming weeks. I still need to find some right coloured thread for two of them.

But otherwise I think it's coming along nicely. I've gone ham on the design, buying additional fabric and gold studs to decorate it. Only time will tell if it pays off or not. I keep stabbing myself with the needle and tying a knot in the thread is my biggest hatred. Yet that's the point of these things, to put yourself and your creativity in to a bunch of fabrics, piece them together and then wear it around - showing everyone how cool you are*.

*Take that how you will. I think for the most part my jackets look better on the coat hangers than on me, yet it's not stopped me from stepping out in them.

Anyway, I was wondering if you lot had made one recently or are currently working on one? Additionally, you seeing Maiden this year?
