since it's the year of the dragon, i decided to choose an idol whose zodiac is a dragon. after narrowing it down to a few people, i then looked at the characteristics of those who are born in the year of the dragon and chose jaeyun from to1, who i feel like really fits the most! those who are born in the year of the dragon are typically charismatic, intelligent, confident, powerful, and do everything to the best of their ability. of course, you can always see jaeyun's charisma on stage. but his charm also leaks off stage; his playfulness and banter is charismatic in itself. he is also considered one of the braincell holders in to1 and always reasons things out. also, as leader of the group, he has to have confidence in the and their abilities. lastly, just knowing jaeyun in general, he's not one to put things off. whatever he does, he always puts forth his best effort, and it shows. that's why i chose him as the idol for the lny prompt!
first and foremost, since the theme is lny, i wanted to go with a more asian-style house. but i also wanted it to have a more modern feel to it. of course, the roof would have that iconic pattern to it, i honestly don't even know what it's called, but it's very recognizable in many east asian countries. it would be surrounded by nature and there'd also be a small pond outside with lotus flowers. there'd also be many lanterns surrounding the house, and the building itself would have more red on it, since in many east asian cultures, red represents luck and prosperity. there would also be two lion statues at the entrance, which represents protection and chasing away the bad spirits.
for the interior, it wouldn't be super grand, it'd be something more humble and cozy. the main room would have a huge painting of a dragon on it. it would be simple yet breathtaking to see. throughout the rest of the house, there are paintings of sakura trees. the main room itself has a small couch with a wood frame (?) and a wood coffee table. an opening would lead to the kitchen area, which would be lit by lantern-styled lights. the kitchen would have a sliding door that opens up to the pond. jaeyun likes having his meal with the calm view and cool breeze. his bedroom would be in a separate area. it'd have a few small bonsai trees to add a natural feel. the room would have earthly and neutral colors, such as white, gray, and brown. it would also be lit up by one hufe lantern-styled light in the center of the ceiling. his wall would have wood-carved patterns all around the top, on the part that touches the ceiling. the bathroom would be taken up mostly by the shower area. the same white tiles that line the shower area would also be used for the sink, which would be in the shape of a round bowl.
jaeyun likes kids, so he would be a teacher. he knows when to have fun, and when to be serious. he enjoys being around his students and vice versa. not only would he be able to teach them the necessary subjects like math and science, but he'd also teach them lasting life skills, such as effective ways to communicate and how to cook. although he especially enjoys working with younger elementary-aged students, he is looked up to by the older kids as well. not only is he able to his wisdom down to the younger generations, but he also instills confidence and self-esteem into those who need it.
jaeyun is well-liked amongst the village; his bright smile and is really close friends with giseok (feb homeify) but he also sees giseok as a you get brother. giseok gets really energetic and it's just in jaeyun's nature to try to hold him back and control him a bit. these two are always cracking each other up, and they're just a really wholesome duo :heartpulse: of course, being close with giseok has also made him kinda close with ireh (apr) as well. since these two are a bit closer in age, they're able to have more serious conversations more often. sometimes, jaeyun will take his students to play with the pets that ireh watches. the students and the pets chase each other around and play together. at the end of the day, everyone is exhausted.
when jaeyun is with minho (nov), he is always thoroughly entertained. he just thinks that minho's competitiveness is so funny. whenever they're together, jaeyun can usually just sit back and relax and minho takes the wheel. he also really appreciates minho's athletic side and likes to ask for a lot of advice on exercising and workouts. another pair that go well together is him and kanghyun (mar). kanghyun's interest in books makes jaeyun curious too. although he's not as big of a book nerd as kanghyun is, he can appreciate and good read every now and then. and ofc, as a teacher, he has to work a lot with books. he always takes kanghyun's opinion into consideration, as he knows that kanghyun's book knowledge is very deep and detailed. likewise, kanghyun appreciates jaeyun's brains too. his thinking process and deduction is quite impressive.
when jaeyun is around kyubin (jun), he always tries to make conversation and say something. although kb doesn't always respond in the way jaeyun thinks he will, it's still fun to say something and guess how he will potentially respond or react. he also thinks that kb's hair cutting skills are very impressive. while jaeyun himself knows about many topics, hair is not one of them. although kb doesn't say so, he regards jaeyun highly and believes that he is a very important and needed figure in the town. as for jeonghan (may) jaeyun sees him as another entertaining person to be around. although jeonghan is sometimes a bit too mischievous for comfort, jaeyun will watch and laugh from a distance. as long as he isn't victim to jeonghan's schemes, he doesn't really mind. knowing this, jeonghan does like to mess with jaeyun quite a lot. however, he knows not to step over the line. jaeyun likes summer quite a bit, and whenever he goes to the beach, he always stops by jeonghan's shop and likes to see what's been going on.
sometimes, when haeun (jul) is at work, she comes across jaeyun and his students. she really loves children as well, so she never hesitates to stop by and say hi. she always brings in candies or treats despite jaeyun's disagreement. she's gotten to the point where she'll sneak it in so that jaeyun doesn't get upset. however, these two still have a good relationship. they're interested in similar topics and can talk a lott. haeun is really inspired by jaeyun's knowledge and is puzzled by how he's just like any other normal person. another person who likes bringing snacks and food to jaeyun's students is hyoseong (aug). she doesn't like to interact with children as much as the other two, but she still thinks they're adorable. sometimes, her cafe pairs with the school to do promotion events. after doing this for so many years, she's become acquainted with jaeyun that way. she knows that is a very well-respected teacher, and their interactions explain themselves. jaeyun views hyoseong as someone who is hardworking but also knows when to take breaks at the same time. he is sometimes a bit jealous or her quiet and low-key lifestyle.
jaeyun doesn't like creepy things at all, so he and jiwoo (oct) are very different from each other in that way. he is amazed by how she is so into that stuff. everytime they start a conversation, it's a bit awkward, but after a few minutes, they start warming up to each other and it's not as awkward anymore. he was very intimidated when they first met, but now knows that it's just cause she doesn't really like to put on a facade of feeling something that she actually isn't. jiwoo and hwasa (dec) are quite the duo. they exude confidence and power wherever they go. jaeyun first met hwasa when she was with jiwoo, so he was also a bit intimidated at first, but quickly say how friendly and fun she was. these two would talk, joke, and laugh for hours and hours one end if they had the time. for graduation, many of jaeyun's students like to go to hwasa's salon to get a makeover. jaeyun is always impressed by hwasa's visions and how she gets them done with such efficiency.
last but not least, his fellow 00 liner, dongju (jan)! these two don't meet often, but they always get so hyped and excited when they see each other in random places. these two are similar in the way that they can both be super hyper or super tired. there's honestly no in-between. they'll either be bouncing off the walls or sitting in a comfortable silence. it's always interesting when these two are spotted together, since it doesn't happen all the time. they're also both very educated and have a respect for one another.
