         ┊as you may or may not know,

         ┊recently winner made a

         ┊comeback that was, i guess

         ┊you could say, quite bittersweet.

         ┊the last comeback in a while as

         ┊we arrived to the time when we

         ┊have to say goodbye as they go

         ┊and fulfill their military duties.

         ┊i really wanted to make some

         ┊kind of blog for them. both

         ┊because i haven't done it in a

         ┊while but also because i wanted

         ┊like a way to say goodbye to

         ┊them. i thought reviewing the

         ┊last album would be nice but i

         ┊still added a little bit of a twist

         ┊to make it kinda more special.

         ┊since the album is called

         ┊'' i thought it would be

         ┊nice to some moments

         ┊which is why to each new song

         ┊(i won't be talking about the ones

         ┊that are the 4 member versions)

         ┊i will add a memory i have with

         ┊them. either something they did

         ┊or something i went through

         ┊accompanied with them. so yea,,

         ┊just be warned, this is probably

         ┊gonna be a bit more personal.

    O1.

              :*⇢ ᶠᵃᵗᵉ ⁿᵘᵐᵇᵉʳ ᶠᵒʳ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ . in a way such a

     simple song. the whole first

     verse relies on some simple

     guitar and their voices. the

     fact this is the last title track

     in a while definitely plays a

     role when it comes to giving

     it an emotional impact but

     it's also just the song itself.

     so touching and emotional.

     it sounds broken and sad.

     but also in some way

     comforting. the fact it stays

     so simple gives their voices

     a chance to really bring the

     message across. voices filled

     with so much emotion. telling

     a whole story without the

     need to even say a word.

     the reason i connected this

     song to their first ever album

     as a four member group is very

     simple - it was the album that

     started it all. the album that

     brought these four dorks into

     my life. the album that snatched

     my complete attention despite

     only having two songs. but two

     incredible songs which til this

     day remain some of my favorites.

    i don't want to call ''

     an end or a goodbye cause that

     sounds like they won't be

     coming back. so let's say it's an

     'until we meet again' to the first

     'hello' that was fate number for.

    O2. dduk

              :*⇢ ʰᵃʳᵘ ʰᵃʳᵘ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ the piano in the intro already

     holds so much weight and

     sets the mood for the entire

     song. it fits so well with

     jinwoo's sweet and light voice.

     the whole song just feels so

     light. weightless. as if your

     body is being lifted towards

     the stars by only the weakest

     breeze. just like ''

     there's not much to the song

     i could really say about. it's

     mostly just jinwoo's voice

     getting a spotlight. a soothing

     calming voice that puts your

     soul at peace.

     their cover of 'haru haru' is

     hands down one of my favorite

     performance they had. the

     styling, the effects, the way

     they made the song feel like

     it was completely their own,

     the way the whole stage glows

     up into a million golden lights--

     all of it plays a role into making

     this a stage i truly adored

     seeing from them. it doesn't

     have that much of a connection

     to 'dduk' except that it carries

     a similar vibe. it made me

    experience a similar feeling.

    O3. hold

             :*⇢ ʷ⁻ˡᵒᵍ ᵉᵛᵉʳʸ ᵐᵒᵐᵉⁿᵗ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ after two songs that really

     do their best when trying to

     rip your heart out and tore it

     into a million pieces we have

     'hold' to bring our mood back

     up. give us some energy and

     feed us with positivity. 'hold'

     is winner's more playful side.

     it's bright and fun. something

     about it even sounds

     colorful - like a pretty bouquet

     of flowers or a bowl of skittles

     turned into a song.

     a fun song deserves to be

     matched with a memory that

     makes me equally happy.

     and in this case it's the little

     vlogs they were ing

     revolving around their

     memories from the every-

    where tour. mostly focusing

     on their time in america. they

     were short yet cute. giving

     us insight into some behind

     the scenes moments at the

     concerts but also them

     experiencing the culture of

     the different cities they visited.

     they were always so curious

     and dorky making the vlogs

     fun and sweet to watch.

    O4. just dance

              :*⇢ ʸᵒᵘᵗʰ ᵒᵛᵉʳ ᶠˡᵒʷᵉʳˢ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ shall we keep that fun energy?

     'just dance' makes sure you

     know this is gonna be a fun

     energetic song from the first

     few notes that play. it gets

     your head shaking as the

     playfulness of the sounds

     starts flowing through your

     body. it's fun, it's funky and

     it's catchy - the perfect

     combination to leave a strong

     and memorable imprint in

     your mind and to not let you

     forget about it anytime soon.

     youth over flowers - a show for

     which winner were in a sense

     kinda kidnapped and shipped

     to australia. it was a show i

     absolutely adored watching. a

     show just as fun as the song

     i'm matching it with. in a way

     i guess i could compare them

     to the vlogs. them in a different

     country, surrounded by a

     different culture they wish to

     experience to the fullest. but

     this show was just a whole

     other level from that. it was

     chaotic, funny, served us so

     many endearing moments. in

     a simple way really made me

     fall for the four of them even

     more.

    O5. my bad

             :*⇢ ᶦⁿ ᵗʰᵉ ⁿᶦᵍʰᵗ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ this is probably my favorite

     song from the album. the way

     it lulls you into the song with

     the guitar is always a recipe for

     a song that i will easily fall for.

     it's one of those "let's go for a

     ride during the night,, we don't

     have to go anywhere, just enjoy

     the darkness and the quiet"

     kind of song. it's hard hitting.

     it grips my heart with full force.

     the chorus especially has so

     much impact as the vocals

     suddenly hit much harder.

     bringing up a whole wave of

     emotions to clash over you.

     i first wanted to connect this

     to the moment when i had the

     most chaotic way of entering

     the new year while accompanied

     with 'really really' but there's

     not exactly a connection to be

     made between that and this

     song. so i ed some

     different times that i was

     accompanied by their songs

     during the night.

     night is weird. it psychologically

     effects us in many ways but

     one of them is also that it

     makes winner music or just

     music in general a lot more

     hard hitting. 'baby baby' truly

     hits different when you're driving

     in the middle of nowhere

     surrounded by darkness. or

     when you listen to 'pricked'

     alone on the balcony staring

     at the stars or to 'different'

    while drunk with some friends.

    O6. teaser

              :*⇢ ᶜʳᵒˢˢ ᶜᵒⁿᶜᵉʳᵗ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ so apparently 'b*tch i'm sad'

     isn't the right line this starts

     with but instead it's '비참 sad'.

     but i will ignore that cause

     'b*tch i'm sad' somehow

     perfectly sets and sums up

     the vibe of the song. the

     instrumental of this one picks

     up so nicely. it almost feels as

     if mino sets the beat stronger

     with his rap before it breaks

     down again into a bit more

     mellow and emotional waters.

     something about the song

     feels very chill and relaxing

     but it still has this feeling

     lingering in the distance as

     if something is terribly wrong.

     something a bit more recent.

     collecting all the possible clips

     from the cross concert i could

     find and then just enjoying

     them from my room doesn't

     really fit the overall mood of

     the song cause those clips

     made me incredibly happy. it's

     more of the connection over

     the line i spoke about. cause

     in a way b**ch i am sad. sad

     that i couldn't be there in the

     audience. see all of that energy

     from up close. witness all of

     the greatness live.

    O7. well

             :*⇢ ᵗʰᵉᶦʳ ᵐᵘˢᶦᶜ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ first time listening to this

     one, it almost got me sobbing

     with the first few lines. it

     continues into a bit more fun

     direction but as soon as it

     reaches the chorus it brings

     back the feeling from the

     beginning. this song,, it made

     me overwhelmed with warmth

     and comfort. it's like a sweet

     dream or a warm hug. it

     wraps a blanket around you

     protecting you from the world.

     it makes me feel so incredibly

     happy and hopeful and simply

     makes your heart feel full.

     the match i have for this isn't

     some specific moment or a

     specific thing they did. it's

     more about their music in

     general. music that offers me

     so much comfort. there are

     many songs they have put

     out there that have managed

     to make me feel similar to

     'well'. made me feel safe and

     full. like i'm in a bubble that

     can't be reached by anything.

    their music is something i

     could never put into words

     just like all the different

     feelings it makes me feel are

     hard to grasp and fully

     understand.

    O8. serenade

              :*⇢ ˢᵘᵐᵐᵉʳ ²⁰¹⁷ ᵕ˙˚˙

❝ and saving the shining hoon

     to end this wonderful album.

     in some ways this song has

     some aspects of 'well'. mostly

     in the chorus that has this

     uplifting and hopeful energy

     surrounding it. and which also

     really shined a light on some

     wonderful hoony vocals.

     aside from it the rest of the

     song sounds very fun and

     energetic much like hoon

     himself. i think the song really

     suits him as well as that he

     brings out the most out of it.

     and for the last memory i wish

     to connect is the summer 2017.

     the summer i basically didn't

     go a single day without

     listening to them. once 'love

     me love me' and 'island' came

     out, i listened to them pretty

     much every morning. getting

     ready for the day and getting

     a boost of positivity from

     their songs. 'serenade' despite

     the name remains energetic

     and upbeat and as such would

     also be a good addition to a

     summer morning started with

     some fun winner music.
