Now, you can't deny it can be pretty difficult to learn a new group. Learning all the names, faces, group positions and more, it can be a little challenging. Even a group consisting of just 7 can be hard, imagine trying to learn about a group with 13 ! Now that is something that takes a lot of time and effort. So that got me thinking... as there are so many people that struggle with learning about Seventeen (such as my best friend here), and I'm a Seventeen encyclopedia, it'd be a great idea to help people out with learning about one of my ultimate bias groups ^-^

As this group does consist of 13 , it'll be a bit hard to learn all of their names and faces. Therefore, I have thought of a few tricks for you so it'll help you get the hang of it! I have do's and dont's! ^-^

1. PLEASE Don't Try To Distinguish Them By Hair Color!

Seventeen is pretty big on changing up their hair color, as pretty much 98% of K-Pop groups are, Seventeen doesn't just do it within every comeback, but in between them as well and even just for a music video. Since there are so many and so many hair colors changing, that's definitely not a way to go! Not even just for a little bit of time, as it'll keep changing or has already changed a million times. For example, in the hip hop unit's recent mixtape Check In Mingyu has orange hair that makes him look like an actual pumpkin. He only had this hair for this video! Afterwards, he went blonde. Now he has brown hair. He's killing me.. this visual is killing me. Also, The8 tends to change his hair color a lot, as he also likes to go for a rainbow theme.

2. Do Look For Little Quirks About Them!

Each member in Seventeen is very unique, as they all have their own individual personality. Even if their personality is a little similar, there will still be differences that will make you able to tell them apart. For example, in the beginning I would get Wonwoo and Mingyu confused, as to me at certain angles they looked very similar. Yet, they both had personalities that were similar, but very different. Wonwoo has his cheeseburger aegyo and Mingyu was just.. well Mingyu :joy: trust me little things you pick up will definitely help you. Even the way they smile.

3. Begin By ing By Units

Seventeen consists of 3 units, and when I first started, a super big help was to start by ing them by units. the names in each unit, and match the faces. As 2 of the groups consist of 4 and 1 consists of 5, this shouldn't be TOO hard. Then once you can get the units down you basically have all of Seventeen down! Learning the units won't only help with distinguishing , but also knowing the member's positions in the group as well.

4. Adapt To The Mouth And Nose Area

I know it sounds super weird lol, but in Seventeen all the have very unique smiles and noses. When I was learning their faces (I binged on them so I learned them within 3 days) it really helped to try and them by their mouths and their smiles, also the way they talked. Also, they have unique teeth :joy: I sound like the weirdest person alive but trust me if you try it it could help you a whole lot! Hoshi has baby bunny teeth and it's so cute :rabbit:

Their fan name, Carat, stands for a carat in a diamond, like if it has let's say... 17 carats. We have this fan name because Seventeen's theme/symbol is a diamond, and we are their Carats that will make them shine. Also, diamonds have to go through a lot of stress and pressure to be able to shine bright.

Seventeen's parents are S.Coups (Father) and Jeonghan (Mother). Let me just say.. they're a power couple. They look so cute together and honestly from being in the fandom it's such a great feeling when you see these two together. S.Coups was named the father because he has the most experience, he's their leader, he's the oldest, and he takes care of them and is an amazing leader. Jeonghan is our mommy because of his such sweet and caring personality, his baby Dino ("Dino, who's baby are you?" "Jeonghan's Baby") his feminine looks, and really just his personality is motherly (yet he can be a little devil in the best way, he's a troll). These two take care of the rest of the boys, and they're also the two oldest of the group. I ship them so hard.

Seventeen work so so so hard, as they are a self producing group. They're a self producing group, as Woozi (right) writes and composes Seventeen's songs. Not just group songs, but units as well. While they're promoting their current album, he's still busy working on their soundtracks, while also the hip hop unit would write their rap lyrics and Woozi would help compose music. I give him so much credit, as he feels so much weight on his shoulders since he feels that the groups success is in his hands, and he's what will determine all 13 ' future. Hoshi (left) choreographs Seventeen's songs, and let me just say, he always does AMAZING. I can't imagine the difficulty of choreographing for 13 people. For their song Pretty U Hoshi choreographed it in a pizza parlor at the booth, that's why the dance involves a couch as a prop. He's so creative and unique and there's nothing not to love. 2017 is the year of Seventeen! Show a lot of love and to these boys this year as they'll be working their tails off!

Their Group Rings

Before debut, when the official Seventeen were decided (4 were cut ;-;), they were given a ring that is dedicated to their group. They had a surprise ceremony for this as well done by Pledis staff. It has "Seventeen" and their name engraved on it and they all wear it on their right hand pinky finger. As they received this ring, many of the cried or held back tears, starting with S.Coups, as it was very emotional and moving for them. The rings stand for them as a family and the love they have for each other. S.Coups and Jeonghan said that whenever they feel down, they can look at the ring and feel better. When S.Coups feels he's slacking, he looks at his ring and he feels more motivated. This is truly special about this group.

As these boys are one of my ultimate bias groups, they mean so much to me. Hopefully someone learns a lot about these boys and things have gotten a little easier to learn more about them. These boys are so so so amazing.. I literally cannot stress it enough. They're SO funny, so kind, so loving towards each other. They're my role models and I aspire to them so much. Vernon was told directly to his face that he wasn't a good rapper and that he'll never make it, on TV too. Look where he is now.. look where they ALL are now. They've worked so hard to be where they are, constantly and non stop. They deserve every award they've been given, all that's left is a dongsaeng. All of their tears that they've cried before they could debut, with the pressure, the stress, the fear of not knowing when they'll debut or even if they'll debut with the group, every year they cried to get to where they are. Now, they're so happy. They constantly make us laugh, and they've even said that they hope they can make us smile to brighten up our day. Yes, they still cry, but there's a lot less of that now.
