         ┊it has been about two years since

         ┊i officially slapped the ultimate

         ┊bias label on hanbin so i got in a

         ┊mood to write a little something

         ┊for him. i really wanted to give him

         ┊a proper blog and for it to not just

         ┊be one where i ramble about him

         ┊cause i feel like i already said on

         ┊multiple occasions what would be

         ┊said again through such a blog. so

         ┊i came up with an idea that i'm not

         ┊too sure i'll be able to deliver the

         ┊way i hope to but i'll try my best.

         ┊basically the idea for this is to

         ┊create a movie out of his life - one

         ┊in which he plays the main role.

looking at what hanbin's life has been the last few years it can definitely be said it was filled with many ups and downs. some moments that were filled with euphoria and confidence but also moments that were heavy and rough. life is always like that. for every one of us. but somehow i feel like his good and bad moments go beyond that of an average person. like the opportunity and honor to win producer of the year,, i can only imagine it is a much greater feeling than anything i have ever achieved and felt. and just like that there were moments that must have hurt more than anything i have ever experienced.

with that in mind what would his life look like portrayed on the big screen? would the happy moments be given a bigger importance making this heart warming and wholesome with a hint of comedy? or would the rougher moments overshadow those and make it into a darker drama that makes your heart ache as you watch?

perhaps something in the middle would be the best. all of those moments were the ones that made him who he is and as such all of them are equally important. a movie that takes you on a roller-coaster of emotions with both gloomy and fun scenes. showcasing who kim hanbin is from all the sides. in all the situations.

so who is the main character of our movie actually?

we all know who b.i is. he is an idol. he raps, he dances, sometimes sings and most importantly leads his team. but he is also kim hanbin - a producer, a goofball, a cutie, a genius,, and so much more. many positive adjectives could be used to explain him. he isn't limited to just one position. there are many aspects to him one could get to know and with each one you fall for him even more. he might seem like one type of person. usually it's the confident and almost scary side of him. but there's always so much more to see and learn. he always manages to surprise and impress you. whether it comes to his talents or just him as a person.

when it comes to me, hanbin wasn't someone i instantly fell in love with. he wasn't even an initial bias. he was one of those people who grabs a part of my heart bit by bit the more i found out about him. the more colors i saw before it became a whole rainbow.

he's a super talented idol? that's cool. he produces almost all of the songs for ikon and is an incredible hardworking leader? love that. off stage he is an adorable silly nerd who has no shame and always needs attention from his ? you're getting a worrying amount of my attention. he seems approachable and has many different hobbies such as photography and arranging flowers? just take my fucking heart.

it's simple to get drawn to him because hanbin is someone i would without a doubt call incredibly amazing. talented, hard working, caring, unique, determined, silly, enthusiastic, strong, funny... someone who is a perfect person to be put into the spotlight of a movie.

𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐭 - 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞

hanbin's story in the korean music industry doesn't start from debut but for this movie let's make that our beginning. the moment when he officially walked into the idol world alongside six other as the group ikon.

why is that a good beginning? because it's fierce and strong. it left an impact. when ikon just waltzed into the industry they came in determined and thirsty for blood. dropping bop after bop you already knew who ikon was and it wasn't even that long since they came to town.

it's our fun and care free intro for the movie. where we get to know the characters and get to live through their lives that were going smoothly so far without any major obstacles dropped in their way. but soon enough we need an issue to drive the plot further.

debut was a good start but somehow things started going downhill. spending most of their time in japan and having almost no comebacks, ikon hit a tough period. especially once the 'bling bling' comeback didn't prove to be as successful as probably everyone hoped for, it became difficult for all of them - putting certain weight on each of the ' shoulders.

having these darker moments come we could connect them to the hardships they were already going through before debut. the time when they had to go through not one but two survival show, face failure and fight with all they had just to get their hands on that sweet debut.

the path for the group wasn't easy. but after rain always comes the sun. or something along those lines people always say. sometimes you don't just need a good song. a bit of luck is needed as well. and god finally decided to sprinkle some of that luck on ikon. 'love scenario' saw the light of the day and it blew up. bringing ikon back to its feet and shooting them into so many new heights.

this is that part of the movie when everything seems great. they're coming back with one song after another. winning awards. even getting an award for song of the year. being loved and appreciated. and everything finally seems great.

this whole part i've talked about ikon as a whole since it was a journey they went on all together and not just hanbin by himself. then why would he be the main character and not all of them together? perhaps because he always stood out. as the leader and producer. but also as part of the iconic double b duo. but also because this is the point where his solo path starts. and when i say solo, it's unfortunately not in the way we would like it to be.

each movie has its climax. when everything goes to shit. that was june 2019 for hanbin. getting involved into a drug scandal that ended with him immediately leaving the group. it was a huge blow to every fan but especially to him and the group.

i still just waking up in the morning and seeing a notification from instagram that he posted. the post was just a huge block of text and despite not being able to understand a single word, posts like that almost never mean something good. i don't feel like getting too into this whole thing. it was a rough thing for every ikon fan but we stuck together. we kept hope and believed in him.

and with that we reach the denouement - the end of the movie. few days ago hanbin has been proven innocent and only the final verdict remains. so hopefully he'll soon be completely free and hopefully he'll make a comeback once he is. stronger than ever. like the fighter he's always been.

i've always adored this song. it seems simple - like there's not that much happening, giving his voice and rap an opportunity to really shine. yet it's still such an impactful song. you could feel the emotion, the determination.

it's a song that got released before he even debuted. while he was still just a trainee trying to fight his way to the top. so where would it fit in the movie and the story of his life? i feel like it would be able to fit almost any moment. he's saying that it's tough, that people will point fingers and try to drag him down yet he's still not stopping. he's still strong and going forward. and he's really living up to the lyrics he wrote.

the confidence. the fierceness. the beat and the lyrics seem to go so well together here. with him basically just saying fuck you to anyone who ever had something hateful to say being accompanied by such a rough and strong beat.

i feel like the time this song was released is a perfect period for which it could be included as a soundtrack as well. the time when 'return' was released. despite what everyone said, hanbin knew what he wanted and he kept being who he is. and it finally lead him to success.

a perfect song to finish the movie. to finish the story that has been told so far. this song-- it's so simple. it's questionable whether it could even be called a song since there is literally no music. it's just his voice. just him. and just that is enough to still get us emotional. it's all of these emotions that crawled into his tone, the lyrics, the story behind it.

this was the first thing we got from him in a while and maybe it will be the ending of this movie but in real life it is just the beginning.
