2017 is already approaching its end (cries because I'm not mentally ready for 2018) and with that I wanted to do a list of my favorite releases this year.

I did a similar post like this for the first half of 2017 when I made a shit ton of lists, but I decided to be even more extra than that and added even more for this one.

It's not my fault there was so much good stuff released through the year.

❥ i never expected to love this song as much as I did. it's so chill and the vibe of it is hella good. i feel like it was supposed to be sad, yet it gives me more of a summery evening feel when you just kinda chill after an exciting day and i'm all about songs with such mood.

❥ this shit gets me pumped every single time. especially the rap parts (if you ever heard the song, you'll know EXACTLY which parts i mean). it's got a great beat and it's absolutely impossible to listen to it and stand still.

i swear, they are all top notch dancers and their choreos always look damn hard (i tried learning two and lemme tell ya, folks - that shit really ain't easy). but this whole dance is so cool and has such nice flowing moves.

❥ i first liked the song. then i got obsessed with the dance for it... so i ended up being even more obsessed.

i think the, uh - how do i explain, the parts when one guy starts and the others follow on different numbers. you know what i mean. that shit probably got me. but the combination of some harder moves as well is what made the song ten times more lit.

❥ i'm pretty sure the whole style was what actually won me over here. i am a sucker for those ugly ass hawaiian shirts and we got plenty in this mv. so i was more than satisfied in that area. but the whole concept of the video had that kinda trippy and exotic vibe that i really liked.

i never had a bts album with that many side tracks i seriously loved and wasn't expecting much from this one as well, especially since it was at a time when i was dropping them as my ultimate bias group.

but it obviously exceeded my expectations and i even ended up buying it. it has a cool mix of lit songs as well as those nice calmer ones that i actually liked this time (it takes a lot for such songs to impress me).

❥ this was something i would never expect from taehyun, but, boy, was i pleasantly surprised. the moment i heard the guitars, i already knew i would like it. it's got a good vibe and makes you pumped. the instrumentals are awesome and his voice fitted perfectly that type of song.

❥ n.flying snatched me completely with their comeback. 'the real' was also such a damn bop that i had a hard time deciding which one to include here. both amazing! but in this one, the rap and the chorus that makes you hyped might have made me like it slightly more.

❥ so... i was just nicely enjoying the song. the first part had an interesting instrumentals and sounded cool, but then the chorus hit me out of nowhere and left my head spinning like a wheel. hongki's voice is a blessing to us all and it sounded so good with the strong beat of this song.

❥ another example of a chorus that suddenly hits and kills you. listening to this at first felt like a normal, usual day6 song, but i was obviously wrong because by the time the chorus came i was lying on the floor dead. the chorus gives the song such an impact and makes me so much more emotionally invested into it.

❥ listen... i was never too big of a 2ne1 fan, but this song got me emotionally dead. it has a really sad and melancholic feel, but alongside the music video it feels so damn depressing. in a weird way it's really beautiful and i adore the atmosphere and the vibe of it.

it just feels normal and everything, until it hits that chorus and their voices bless your ears. it suddenly feels so damn powerful and it seriously gives the whole song an impact that makes it seriously appealing.

❥ another song that i feel wasn't too loved, but honestly, if you go past the cringey mv - this a bop. it's catchy af! it took me days to get it out of my head. and it feels fun and like a nice song to dance to. i don't care if people like it or not, i'll be bopping to this song in my grave.

❥ okay... the instrumentals in this one gives me life. everything gives me life.

to be honest it feels like a whole new song and i don't think i'd be able to tell it's red velvet's song if i didn't know it beforehand. it's got such a cool vibe, kinda chill, but kinda not. you know what i mean. the song is hella nice - that's the important thing here.

❥ this entire song kept smacking me in the face throughout the entire thing. first the lit rap line, then the beat drop... everything! and all of it together created such a good song, i'm still not over how well made this song is.

• at first I was a bit surprised that Seventeen is my top group of this year, but then I ed that they had two high quality comebacks that I adored. so congrats to them! :blush:

• musically speaking Winner would probably be a bit higher as well but I just didn't have many categories where I could rank them (such as album, side tracks...). so at the same time it's impressive they got that high

• I was expecting Highlight to be first tbh. I might not have gotten absolutely consumed by the group emotionally, but the stuff they're putting out is pure gold.

• some groups, such as Vixx and Nct got a crap ton of points thanks to having a lot of activity not just as a group. Vixx didn't make any list as a whole, but Ravi and the subunit put out some quality shit this year.
