Schizophrenia (Not What You Think)

Schizophrenia—it’s not what you think,

Not just the stories they write in ink.

They call us danger, they call us insane,

But deep in our hearts, we still love through the pain.

S is for stigma—they act like we sting ya,

Quick to dismiss, judge, and fear what’s within ya.

C is for "crazy"—they claim that we’re lazy,

But every day’s war, yeah, the battle ain’t easy.

H is for hopeless—they say we lack souls,

But we push through the dark, we break through the mold.

I is for insight—we see what they miss,

A world full of colors, both chaos and bliss.

They call us freaks, they push us aside,

But we’re just like you with a storm in our mind.

We dream, we feel, we rise, we fall,

Yet all that they see is the fear on the walls

Z is for zeal—we hold onto hope,

Climbing the mountain, just learning to cope.

O is for outcasts—they shove us away,

Like we’re some threat, like we’re meant to decay.

P is for pain, but also for power,

Rising again when the world turns sour.

H is for heart—yeah, we got it too,

But they never ask, they assume what they view.

R is for real—we bleed, we feel,

Yet they paint us as monsters, denying what’s real.

E is for everyone fighting to stand,

Through mental storms they don’t understand.

N is for never, we won’t break or fold,

Even in darkness, our light takes hold.

I, is for I- a person, not fear,

Not just an illness—I’m standing right here.

A is for all who walk this road,

Forget their whispers—let your true colors show.

We’re not the villains you see on the screen,

Look past the rumors, the cracks in between.

We fight our own battles, we struggle, we dream,

Just trying to live, not rip at the seams.

We just want love, like the rest of this world,

Not to be feared, not to be hurled

Into the shadows, lost in the lie—

We’re more than the labels, don’t us by.
