Whispers Across the Distance

A quiet love letter carried in echoes — for the girl whose

laughter still reaches me, even across the silence.

Through sound and songs, I see you still,

Not with eyes—yet deeper still.

Not like others see, but true,

A vision stitched from me to you.

The girl who laughs when she falls down,

Who aches for others’ silent frowns.

A fool, perhaps, in the sweetest light,

Wearing her heart through every night.

You—just a whisper of purest cheer,

In my clouded world of shadowed fear.

I cried that day, but still you stayed,

Not hand in hand, as we had prayed—

Not in arms, like dreams we weave,

But holding me, when I couldn't believe.

Your giggles lift me to somewhere new,

A place with no fear, no midnight blue.

And even tired, aching, barely whole,

I speak again what floods my soul:

How much you make my heart take flight,

How words escape me every night.

So one last time before I rest—
